Reilly entered the Portland Expo CFA Cat Show as Premier, with 42 points toward Granding
which he had earned at his last show in Seattle. He was up against his
usual rival - Kankoonkats Notafold Of Kiekie - 'Thumper', who is owned by
good friend, and Master Clerk, Alice Juan. They were in a field of 38 cats in
both Long and Short Hair. Of the 4 rings on Saturday, Reilly won 'Best of Breed'
3 times. When he entered the last ring of the day he needed 11 points to Grand.
He got 13! Alice, who was sitting beside me, yelled out, "He Granded". Scared
me! Judge Betty Denny immediately handed me the "I Granded At Rose City" ribbon.
Then Alice told me to fill out the paperwork so that Reilly would be shown
as a 'Grand Premier' on the next day, Sunday.
On Sunday, Reilly, again, took
3 of the 4 rings. Reilly was called back to all 8 'finals' rings over the weekend
and earned over 100 points toward the 'Regional Winner' title. We don't expect
to see Reilly attain that honor as we will not be showing him that much more,
due to time and financial considerations. We will try to see if we can get
his brother - Ori - granded. Alice says that there is a big show coming up in
Portland in December. We plan on entering both Reilly and Ori, and also to get
their photos taken, professionally. |
